(Sept. 14, 2012) – Men's golf finished fifth of eight teams at this year's St. Joseph's College Golden Eagle Invitational at Island Hills Country Club Friday.

Rory Mazur (FR/Ridgefield, CT) continued his hot play, with a very solid 78 (+7) even with a quadruple bogey on the par three 11th hole. Mazur finished in a tie for 9th place.
Fellow newcomer
Brett Conger (FR/Freeville, NY) grinded out an 82 (+11). Rounding out the scoring for the Panthers was
Mike Wyckoff (SO/Queens, NY) with an 88 (+17) and

"The guys came off of a record-setting performance for our program at Skidmore but unfortunately didn't follow it up with a great showing today,"
assistant coach Jonas Borra remarked. "Luckily, it's still early in the season and we know what we are capable of. This tournament was a great learning experience for us – we'll come out a stronger group next time out."
Cumming chimed in with, "Golf is a tough game to figure out: sometimes you just have bad days. We will all be better the next time out."
The Panthers next take to the links on Wednesday, Sept. 19th in a dual match against Westfield State College at the program's new home course, Tamarack Country Club in Greenwich, CT. Tee off is at 2:15 p.m.
