Samantha Alonzo (JR/Wappingers Falls, NY) fired a two-hit shutout on Mar. 15 as Purchase opened its season with an 8-0 (5 innings) win over Yeshiva. She struck out 11 and did not issue a walk.

Alonzo also collected four hits in five at-bats in the Panthers' doubleheader sweep. She batted .800, with a triple and four RBI.

She was later named the Skyline Pitcher of the Week and the PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
