Deshawn Cann (JR/Queens, NY) lifted the Panthers to a 3-0 record, including a 2-0 in conference on the week. The swingman posted averages of 15.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists per contest, to go with a 22:5 assist-to-turnover ratio.
Cann provided 12 points and seven assists Monday night, including the court-length game-winning helper on a SportsCenter Top-10 3-pointer as time expired in a 71-68 victory over No. 14 Wesleyan. He then added a season-best 22 points (7-for-14 FG, 3-for-4 3FG, 5-for-6 FT) and 14 caroms Thursday in completing the season sweep against Mount Saint Mary. The junior finished two boards shy of a triple-double (11 points, 10 assists, eight rebounds) in Saturday's triumph against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
He was later named the Skyline Conference Player of the Week and an honorable mention for the Met Writers for PofW. Cann is the lone PC Student-Athlete of the Week.
