Brenden Keeling (JR/Ontario, Canada) is the Purchase College Student-Athlete of the Week, the SID office announced this week.
Purchase's standout first singles player continued his impressive play last week. And the Skyline Conference and Purchase College took notice. In addition to the PC Student-Athlete of the Week award, Keeling was named the Skyline Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Week late Monday, adding another league award under his belt for the 2012 campaign.
Keeling is making a serious play not only for a repeat trip to the All-Skyline team, but also a possible selection as the league player of the year.
Keeling shined in a 1-1 week for Purchase. He went 2-0 in singles and 1-1 in doubles, sweeping his two matchups against Albertus Magnus before taking down first-place NYU-POLY's top player, 6-4, 6-2 in a terrific match to cap the week.
