James "Jim" Alfredo completed his 10th season as the head coach of the Purchase golf team in October of 2019.

During his tenure, Alfredo has amassed a 12-11-1 record in head-to-head matchups and led the Panthers to top-3 Skyline Conference finishes four times and top-4 finishes eight times. He was named the Skyline Conference Men's Golf Coach of the Year in 2012 and has guided the program since 2010

Before arriving at Purchase, Alfredo collected over 20 seasons worth of coaching in golf and basketball at various levels. He coached at the Convent of the Sacred Heart in nearby Greenwich, CT, during which he had numerous players receive “All-League” status, while leading the team to numerous winning campaigns. One of his players qualified for the U.S. Open twice as a high school student.

Alfredo, a Harrison, NY native, is also a decorated player himself. He learned the game at the Westchester Country Club and Boca Raton Country Club. Alfredo has won seven amateur events and three long drive awards in tournament play. From 2003-07, he owned and operated a driving range in upstate Connecticut, where he headed operations and taught lessons.
