Taylor Edelmann helped Purchase finish the season on a high note Friday night, recording a match-high 13 kills to lead the Panthers over host York, 3-1.
Purchase opened the match in a 25-15 win before dropping the second set, 25-22. The Panthers bounced back in the third and fourth game, 25-10 and 25-19, respectively, to close out the match – and the season – with a win.
Edelmann (SO/Bethel, CT) hit .400 (13 of 25) while adding two service aces and a match-high 14 digs in a superb performance.
Taylor Edelmann paced the Panthers with 13 kills and 14 digs.
Olivia Hintz (JR/East Aurora, NY) contributed seven kills and a match-high seven service aces for Purchase. The Panthers also received a nice effort from their dynamic-setting duo.
Mickaela Olson (JR/Glen Cove, NY) totaled a match-high 19 assists. Teammate
Lindsay Navagh (FR/Fulton, NY) handed out 10 assists.
The Panthers totaled 38 kills to York's 18. They also netted three team blocks in a dominating showing.
The rebuilding Panthers finished the season with eight wins, narrowly missing the conference tournament by two games. Purchase remains confident about its future with several promising talents on the roster, including upperclassmen Edelmann, Hintz and
Rebecca Dittler (JR/Elmira Heights, NY).
