Purchase, NY
(Nov. 1, 2010) –
Abigail Katz owns the single-season mark for goals with 22, a record she eclipsed last week.
The prize – aside from the record itself: Another weekly honor for the Panther soccer star.
Katz (SO/Livingston, NJ) was named to the Skyline Conference Honor Roll for player of the week late Monday.
Although many believed she would win POW, the honors went to playoff bound athletes during the conference's postseason week. Katz and the Panthers only played one game on the week, but what a game it was – very well deserving of any league recognition.
Katz scored four times to power the Panthers to a 5-1 non-conference win over John Jay in what turns out to be Purchase's final game of the season. In the process, Katz surpassed former Purchase standouts
Albana Krasniqi and Susan Bigler, who each shared the single-season record of 21 goals.
