Staten Island, NY (Oct. 25, 2011) – Women's soccer wrapped the regular season in a 4-0 loss at the College of Staten Island Tuesday.

The Panthers will look to quickly get past the defeat as the Skyline Conference Tournament is set to open. Sixth-seeded Purchase will face No. 3 Old Westbury in the quarterfinals.

As for the regular season finale at the CSI Soccer Complex, it was all CSI on Senior Day. On a day where the Dolphins would honor four seniors, the hosts scored four goals, tying a school record for most wins in a season. The Dolphins extended to 12-4 on the year, tying a 12-win total they had in both 2006 and 2007, while the Panthers fell to 6-8 overall. Prior to kick-off, CSI honored Nicole Quattrocchi, Christina Sgarlato, Paige Buono and Lauren Neglia, who've combined for four amazing years of service, totaling 46 goals and 25 assists over their careers.

Although the Dolphins dominated the time possession in the first half, quality chances were hard to come by, as CSI was whistled for 10 offside calls which added to the frustration.

The Dolphins could only muster up two shots on goal (on six total), but were finally able to push across a goal at 34:01, a nice low liner by freshman Matea Marie DeNoble in the goal box on a lead pass by Natalie Tombasco, who served as the catalyst on the play by earning a quality takeaway to spring CSI loose. The team hit paydirt again at 69:30, this time when Demi-Jean Martorano connected for her 17th marker of the season. Just under nine minutes later, CSI scored again and would add the capper a little over eight minutes beyond that tally.

CSI outshot Purchase 15-6 (7-2 on goal), and held a 6-1 edge in corner kicks.

Purchase will be at OW Saturday for the tournament opener. Start time to be announced.
