Wayne, NJ (Sept. 20, 2011) – Rookie setter Danielle Koukos posted nine service aces and 11 assists as the William Paterson volleyball team (10-1) defeated Purchase (3-4) in three straight – 25-19, 25-17, 25-15 – at the Rec Center Tuesday night.

Trailing 4-5 in the first set, Koukos served five straight aces to get the Pioneers on track, and after clinging to a 16-13 lead, WP was able to pull away for the opening-set win.  William Paterson jumped out to a 10-2 advantage to start the second set and held off a late Panther rally that closed the gap to three (17-14), and then Pioneers blew open an 8-6 edge to secure the final set.

WP's Liz Dykhouse contributed 13 assists and six digs, while senior outside hitter Kim Runge had 11 kills.   

Purchase's Lindsay Froman (SR/Medina, NY) paced the team with nine kills. Lindsay Navagh (SO/Fulton, NY) totaled 19 assists, and Mickaela Olson (SR/Glen Cove, NY) collected 15 digs.
