New York, NY (Oct. 3, 2012) – CCNY's Elsie Almiron recorded 10 kills and teammates Victoria Del Toro and Aimee Grossman recorded 12 assists and 10 assists, respectively, as the Beavers defeated Purchase College in straight sets: 25-19, 25-21, 25-13.

City took the 3-0 on Wednesday evening at Nat Holman Gymnasium, improving to 5-9.

Down early in the first set, 3-9, CCNY went on a 16-4 run to take a 19-13 led over the Panthers and ultimately take the first set 25-19. The Beavers struck 13 kills in set two and nine kills in set three, led by seven unanswered points as CCNY ended a five-match losing streak.

Purchase (1-12) was led by rookie Megan Toole (FR/Hamburg, NY) and her four kills.
