Annandale-on-Hudson, NY (Sept. 15, 2012) – Women's volleyball dropped both ends of a tri-match at Bard College Saturday afternoon, falling 3-1 to the hosts and 3-0 to Bay Path.

Bard took the opener 23-25, 26-24, 25-14 and 25-17. After dropping the first set, Bard got down 7-1, then 10-4, then 16-11 in the second set before coming to life. Seniors Cara Chalk and Ruth Lakew keyed the rally; Chalk with a couple of kills and Lakew with two aces. Chalk produced a huge kill for Bard when it was 24-24, and an error by Purchase gave Bard the second set, 26-24.

Purchase (1-6) had brief leads in both the third and fourth sets, but Bard prevailed late. Chalk finished with nine kills, six aces and hit .389.

In the defeat to Bard, Megan Toole (FR/Hamburg, NY) paced the Panthers with seven kills and 16 digs. Jenna Nardi (SO/Yorktown Heights, NY) added 15 digs in a nice defensive effort.

In the second match of the day, Bay Path topped Purchase 25-16, 25-16, 25-19. Nardi led Purchase in the second match, totaling five kills, while Toole racked up 22 digs. Maggie Brenenstuhl (FR/Schaghticoke, NY) also served up 13 assists in the loss.

In closing out the afternoon, the Raptors had a frustrating match against Bay Path (5-2). Set scores for the winners were 25-11, 25-22 and 25-23.
