Troy, NY (Sept. 8, 2012) – Sage captured a 3-0 win over Purchase today at home.

The Skyline Conference rivals took center stage at the Neff Center in the league opener for both teams. The hosts posted a 3-0 win (25-13, 25-9, 25-16) to improve to 5-0 overall and 1-0 in the Skyline.

Purchase drops to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in the league. The Gators are off to the best start in the program's 41-year history. Middle hitter Kelsey Ray led the team with her six kills, while Helen Putriment and Jillian Schwab each had five kills in the action. Sophomore Katelyn Drollette added 11 digs with four serving aces for the Gators. 

For the Panthers, outside hitter Jenna Nardi (SO/Yorktown Heights, NY) had six kills with four digs. Freshman hitter Megan Toole (FR/Hamburg, NY) had 11 digs in the match with four kills. Rookie Maggie Brenenstuhl (FR/Schaghticoke, NY) had 12 setting assists with four digs for the Panthers.

Purchase College returns to action on Sept. 11, hosting Brooklyn College in a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
