Farmingdale, NY (Oct. 16, 2013) – The Farmingdale State women's soccer team improved to a perfect 6-0 in Skyline Conference play after a 4-0 victory over Purchase Wednesday afternoon.
The Rams now stand at 10-7 overall, while the Panthers drop to 4-8 and 2-3 in conference action.
Midfielder Melissa Lijo gave the Rams a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal at 12:37. Less than a minute later, Alena Gannon tallied the second goal for Farmingdale State.
A breakaway score Ashlee Thompson put the Rams ahead 3-0, before Gabrielle Kasulke recorded the game's final goal in the 25th minute.
Purchase, playing without some of key players due to injury, including Nathalie Lavelanet (JR/South Salem, NY), held the Rams off the board in the second half and stayed in the game.
In addition, Panther keeper Jess Lindsay (SR/Rochester, NY) stopped a game-high 10 shots for Purchase in defeat.
