Patchogue, NY (Oct. 5, 2013) – Purchase lost two matches Saturday at St. Joseph's College-LI.

The Panthers fell 3-0 in the opener to SJC-LI (25-17, 25-11, 26-24) and then dropped the second match in four games to the College of Mt. St. Vincent (25-18, 23-25, 25-23, 25-23).

Purchase was close throughout both matches, especially in the third set of the opener following a slow start to Saturday's action in games one and two. Against the Dolphins, the Panthers were edged in the final two sets after narrowly edging the Dolphins in game two.

Middle blocker Alex Lally (FR/Sunnyvale, TX) led the Panthers against SJC-LI, recording seven of the 17 team kills. She also added seven digs. Setter Olivia Schoeller (FR/Ronkonkoma, NY) handed out a team-high 15 assists in the loss.

SJC-LI was led by Heather Ferchland. She recorded a match-high 12 kills.

In match two for Purchase, the Dolphins were paced by three, double-digit kill leaders, including Ashleigh Scozzari, who shared the kill lead with Purchase's Alicia McCarthy (FR/Plano, TX). Both recorded 14 on the afternoon.

Lally added 13 kills and Schoeller tallied 32 assists in the loss.

Purchase is now 4-7 overall and 0-3 in the Skyline Conference. The Panthers return to action Wednesday at Brooklyn.
