(Oct. 22, 2014) – The Purchase College women's soccer team lost its third Skyline Conference game this evening to visiting College of Mount Saint Vincent, 3-0 in the rain at the Purchase Turf.
In defeat, the Panthers drop to 7-7 overall and 3-3 in the league, while the Dolphins advance to 12-3 and 4-2.
The Mount's Joyce Pagliuca opened up the scoring with a goal in the 34th minute. The assist came from freshman Megan DeRosa who sent a cross to the top of the 18-yard box.
At the end of the first half, the Dolphins had a 1-0 edge over the Panthers, including a 4-1 shot differential.
DeRosa added a second goal, her 18th of the season, at 48:30. Senior Shannon Doyle and freshman Alicia Forgione each earned an assist on the goal.
Purchase's only opportunity came with less than 10 minutes left in the game. Back-to-back shots from
Emily Saltman (FR/Huntington, NY) and
Amanda Green (SO/Roslyn Heights, NY) were saved by Dolphin goalkeeper Elizabeth Martin.
The Mount concluded the game with a 12-3 edge in shots and 7-3 in corner kicks over the Panthers.

Briana Leon (SO/Glen Cove, NY) totaled five saves off seven shots on net.
The Panthers are back in action on Saturday as they travel to St. Joseph's-LI for a Skyline game starting at noon.
