Purchase, NY (Oct. 23, 2014) – The Purchase women's volleyball team started out strong, taking the first set of their match against Old Westbury before dropping the next three sets in a 3-1 defeat.

In the process, Purchase fell to 2-22, while Old Westbury improved to 2-14.

Captain Alex Lally (SO/Sunnyvale, TX) led the Panthers to a first-set victory (26-24) striking four kills in the first set. 

Lally accumulated a total of nine kills, 22 digs and two assists for the match, providing a bright for the hosts.

Despite staying in striking distance throughout, the Panthers dropped the final three sets 20-25, 19-25, and 15-25.

Rookie Lillian Dixon (FR/Jackson, NJ) contributed five kills, one assist and 13 digs for Purchase.

The Panthers will look to improve on tonight's effort when they return to the court at the Sage Tournament on Saturday.
