Box ScorePurchase, NY (Oct. 30, 2014) – In the final game of the 2014 season, the Purchase women's soccer team bid farewell to five of the program's finest in a Senior Night game against non-conference Brooklyn College Thursday evening. Despite an early lead, the Panthers went on to lose to the visiting Bulldogs, 2-1.

Amanda Maertz (Holbrook, NY), Natalie Lavelanet (South Salem, NY),
Gia Sergovich (Watervliet, NY), along with
Melissa Valencia (Medellin, Columbia) and
Cynthia Hernandez (Baure, MD) were honored with a pregame Senior Night ceremony. This is the first time since 2010 that the women's soccer program graduated such a large senior class.
Less than two minutes into the game, rookie ace
Emily Saltman (FR/Huntington, NY) opened up the scoring off a through pass from Sergovich. Saltman dribbled into the 18-yard box and ripped a shot to the far post.
Brooklyn evened the score at 38:15. Bergelie Louis took advantage of a loose ball at the top of the 6-yard line to earn the unassisted goal.
Despite an 8-2 Panther lead in shots, the score remained 1-1 at the end of the first half.
Just two minutes after the second half whistle, Brooklyn's Sayla Flores scored off a free kick to lead the Bulldogs to victory.
Purchase's only opportunity in the final 45 was a shot taken by
Leah Woods (FR/Saratoga Springs, NY) but was saved by Brooklyn's goalkeeper Rebecca Harmata. Earning the win for the Bulldog's, Harmata made four saves in the 90 minutes of action.

Briana Leon (SO/Glen Cove, NY) totaled six saves as she capped her debut campaign with an overall record of 2-6.
Purchase concludes the 2014 season with a 3-5 Skyline Conference record and 7-10 overall.
