Box ScorePurchase, NY (Sept. 20, 2014)– The Purchase women's soccer team downed Maritime College, 4-0, in a Skyline Conference home opener game.
In defeat, the Panthers advance to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in the Skyline while the Privateers drop to 2-5-1 overall and 0-1 in the Conference.
Purchase forward
Amanda Green (SO/Roslyn Heights, NY) earned the game-winning goal eight minutes into the first half. Green dribbled into the 18-yard box and sent a chip to the top right corner to earn the first goal of the game and her fourth overall on the season.

Pernille Karlsen (JR/Hadsund, Denmark) added a second and third at 33:43 and 47:04. Both goals were assisted by rookie ace
Emily Saltman (FR/Huntington, NY).
Gia Sergovich (SR/Watervelt, NY) scored the fourth and final goal with less than three minutes left in the game. Saltman dropped the ball from the end line to the top of the six to assist Sergovich with the goal.
Purchase outshot Maritime 31-5. Despite taking the loss, Privateer goalkeeper Kristen Hoar totaled an impressive 14 saves, 10 of which were in the second half.

Imani Humphries (JR/Washington D.C.) had two saves, including a notable diving save to shut down a shot from Maritime freshman Gayle Woods. With the win, Humphries earns her second shutout of the season.
Up next, Purchase heads to CUNY John Jay on Monday for a non-conference game. Kickoff is 4 p.m.
