Madison, NJ (Sept. 3, 2014) – Purchase women's volleyball dropped two matches Wednesday at FDU-Florham.

The Panthers fell 3-0 to the hosts (25-12, 25-12, 25-21) and lost to Lehman College, 3-1 (25-12, 26-24, 23-25, 25-21) earlier in the evening. FDU-Florham also defeated Lehman, 3-0.

The hosts appeared happy to be home from their trip to Texas, as the Devils won both of their matches at the Ferguson Recreation Center. The Devils (3-3) won convincingly by blanking Lehman and then taking the nightcap from the Panthers.

Melissa Gaffney shined with nine kills for FDU-Florham against Purchase.

The Panthers are now 0-6.

Purchase was paced by newcomer Julia Chirlin (FR/Albany, NY) and captain Alex Lally (SO/Sunnyvale, TX), who recorded five and four kills, respectively. Victoria Blum (SO/Bronx, NY) added a match-high eight digs against FDU-Florham.

Salveira Gonzalez led Lehman with 16 kills, as she hit .393.  

Against the Lightning, Purchase's Sarah Gabler (SO/East Concord, NY) totaled 10 kills, while Lally and Chirlin contributed eight and seven apiece. Gabler and Lally also performed well defensively with 18 and 17 digs, respectively.

The Panthers return to action this weekend at Mitchell College.
