Riverdale, NY (April 11, 2017) – The Purchase College men's volleyball season came to an end in the first round of the Skyline Conference Playoffs, as they lost 3-0 to the College of Mount Saint Vincent Tuesday night.
The Panthers dropped the first set 25-15 and could not find a rhythm in the second set, losing 25-19. CMSV would put away Purchase for good, with a close 25-19 third set win.
Tyler Cucullu and Neven Skoblar paced the Mount offense with 11 kills apiece. Cucullu went on to finish with a match-high seven digs.
For Purchase, senior outside hitter
Kevin Carges (Brockport, NY) totaled an impressive match-leading 15 kills, while also collecting five digs in defeat. Senior setter
Andrew Schwab (Merrick, NY) chipped in with nine kills and senior setter
Riley Damerell (Rochester, NY) rounded off the Purchase highlights with a team-best 25 assists.
The Panthers end their season with an overall record of 14-9 and 4-6 in conference.
