Purchase, NY (Sept. 23, 2017) – Visiting City College of New York captured a 3-0 win at Purchase Saturday.
The Beavers won 25-12, 25-19, 25-18 in the non-conference matchup.
The hosts were led offensively by Kaitlyn Pillig (JR/Mamaroneck, NY), Maura Gribbins (JR/Buffalo, NY) and Katie Haynes (SR/Johnson City, NY). Pillig finished with seven kills – a team high – and two aces. Gribbins contributed five kills, one ace, one assist and 13 digs – finishing second in that category to team leader Isis Gonzalez (SO/New York, NY). Gonzalez, the team's libero, paced the spirited defensive effort.
Haynes added three kills in defeat. Alex Lally (SR/Mesquite, NY) and Noelle Miller (SO/Chittenango, NY) handed out 10 and five assists, respectively.
CCNY received strong performances from Irishvarsha Iyyadurai (12 kills), Dzeneta Harambasic (26 assists) and Camila Franco-Diaz (27 digs) in the victory.
