Bronx, NY (Jan. 13, 2018) – A surging College of Mount Saint Vincent team defeated visiting Purchase 68-53 Saturday.

The Dolphins have now won five straight. CMSV improves to 9-5 in the regular season, with a 7-2 showing against Skyline competition.

Purchase (8-4, 5-3) held a one-point advantage at halftime (33-32).

CMSVs' combination of Ammad Alkhulaidi, Andrew Curiel, Matthew Sowah and Makai Johnson were the team's most consistent contributors in the first 20 minutes, as they combined for 23 of 32 total points. Despite their strong start, the Panthers were equally as impressive, as they shot 41% from the floor, led by 11 points and five rebounds from Deshawn Cann (JR/Queens, NY).

In the second half, CMSV revved up its efforts on its way to the win.

Alkhulaidi impressed with 20 points and 10 rebounds, his fourth straight game with a double-double. Sowah finished with 11 points and eight boards, while Johnson netted 10 points, grabbed nine rebounds and handed out five assists.

Purchase was led by Tarik Allicock (SR/Brooklyn, NY), who finished with 12 points and nine rebounds. Cann added 11 and seven, respectively in the loss.
