(Feb. 24, 2018) – The Purchase College men's lacrosse team got back into action today, welcoming neighboring rival Manhattanvile to the campus in what has been dubbed, "The Battle of Anderson Hill Road" for both programs.
The Valiants took this chapter, 17-5, spoiling Purchase's second-ever home opener in year two for the program as a varsity sport.
But despite the final score, Purchase had some moments on the day, and looked stronger after shaking off a rough start to the first period.
The visitors led 6-0 after the 15 minutes, but Purchase battled back and second twice in the second. Manhattanville led 8-2 at halftime.
The Panthers would score three more goals over the final two periods, with the Valiants winning the third, 5-0, and Purchase outscoring the visitors 3-2 in the last stanza.
