New Haven, CT (March 29, 2018) – Women's lacrosse is on an absolute roll.
The Purchase College women's program is now 5-0 following Thursday's overwhelming road victory at Albertus Magnus. In an 18-3 final, the Panthers got a combined 11 goals from Kelly Turtell (SR/Farmingdale, NY) and Zoe Hines (SR/Maplewood, NJ), dropping the Falcons to 3-3 in the non-conference matchup.
Purchase came out firing out of the gate, taking a commanding 12-0 lead at the half.
Down 14-0 in the second, Albertus Magnus' Courtney Cacace was able to find the back of the net for the host's first of the game at the 22:13 mark.
Shortly after, Purchase scored back-to-back goals putting the game out of reach, 16-1.
Keeper Allyson Wong (SR/Staten Island, NY) finished with eight saves for Purchase in the victory.
Hines registered four goals and five assists for nine points while Turtell posted a team-best six goals and an assist for seven points. Astrella Dacosta (SO/Croton-on-Hudson, NY) added three goals for the visitors.
Purchase finished the game 17-of-19 in clear attempts and outshot the hosts by a 27-14 margin.
In the loss, Kaitlin D'Agostino netted a team-best two goals.
