The Panthers captured the opening set in comfortable fashion. After an Albi Marke kills cut the Panther lead to three, 17-14, Purchase would benefit from five Pratt hitting errors as they closed out the first frame to take a 1-0 lead.
The second set saw the Panthers jump out to an early 6-0 lead following a trio of service aces by Rapp. Pratt would tie the score at 7-7 following a pair of Marke aces. A slew of Pratt attacking errors gave momentum back to Purchase as they led 24-19, looking to go up 2-0 in the match. The Cannoneers would score the game's next five points – highlighted by Liaw's kill – to tie the score once again. Trailing 25-24, kills by both Marke and Liaw gave Louis Sepulveda's squad the set, 27-25, as the teams headed into frame number three.
With the third set tied 16-16, costly errors allowed the Panthers to increase their lead to three, 20-17. Liaw's kill closed the gap, but a pair of Kubisch kills sealed the game for Purchase, who led 2-1 heading into the fourth set.
After an Uddhav Kedia service ace gave Pratt a 6-4 advantage, Purchase would reel off six straight points and never look back, cruising to a 25-18 win in game number four.
