PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's lacrosse team breezed to a non-conference win Saturday afternoon, as the Panthers dispensed Keystone College, 21-1.
With the win, Purchase moved to 2-2 on the year, while the Giants of Keystone dropped to 0-2.
The hosts dominated from the get-go, scoring seven goals in the first quarter and the first 13 goals of the game. At halftime, the Panthers lead, 14-1.
Purchase outshot Keystone, 67-7, and limited the Giants to just 8-for-24 on clear attempts. The Panthers also won the ground ball battle, 62-13, and face offs, 24-2.
Dan Ohrem (JR/Ridgefield, CT) powered Purchase with 12 points (10g, 2a) in the win.
Ben Erkan (SO/Bellport, NY) finished with six goals,
Christian Ishoo (FR/Tarrytown, NY) added three goals and an assist and
Zach Zarrella (SO/Leominster, MA) collected three assists and a goal.Â
Joseph Ely (FR/North Salem, NY) finished with 19 ground balls, a goal and won 24 of his 26 face offs.
Bridger Carreau (Marietta, GA) tallied eight ground balls and caused six turnovers in the dominating effort.
A.J. Hackenberg (FR/Carbondale, PA) scored the lone goal for Keystone, while Nicholas Vazquez (JR/Ashburn, VA) collected 18 saves in the loss.Â
