PURCHASE, NY – The Purchase College women's volleyball team fell to the United States Merchant Marine Academy, 3-0, in a Skyline Conference match on Wednesday night.

The visiting USMMA (67-5, 2-0 SKY) remains undefeated in the league after earning set wins of 25-14, 25-6 and 25-10. In defeat, Purchase drops to 3-5 overall and 1-2 in the Skyline.

Merchant Marine jumped out to an early 6-0 start to open the first set.  USMMA stretched its lead to 10-2 before Purchase rallied with five unanswered points to come within three points of the visitors (10-7), but would eventually drop the set, 25-14.

USMMA's offense kept its momentum going for the second and third sets, securing the match victory with set scores of 25-6 and 25-10, respectively.

Purchase returns to its home court tomorrow to play host to Albertus Magnus College. The non-conference match is slated for 7 p.m.
