BROOKLYN, NY - The Purchase College women's volleyball team improved to 2-0 Thursday evening, as the Panthers topped Medgar Evers College in straight sets.
Set scores for the match were 25-19, 25-19 and 25-15.
While the final results in all three sets were relatively close, it was Purchase who dominated all night. The guests took early leads in all three frames and never looked back, as Medgar Evers only led two times throughout the contest .
Gia Gwin (SO/Yonkers, NY) led the charge for the Panthers as she finished with seven kills, nine digs and three aces.
Pamella Gonzalez (FR/Bronx, NY) also enjoyed a nice night, as she tallied five kills, six aces and five digs.
Esmee Johns (FR/Saratoga Springs, NY) chipped in 20 assists and
Joetta Francis (SR/New York, NY) collected seven kills and three blocks in the win.
For Medgar Evers, Sashamoni Burnett (FR/Brooklyn, NY) finished with 11 kills, five blocks and two aces.
