FARMINGDALE, NY – The Purchase College women's basketball team had a tough time slowing down host Farmingdale State on Saturday.
The Panthers trailed by only nine points at halftime, but the Rams scored 48 points in the second half to post an 82-46 victory in Skyline Conference action.
Sophomore forward
Shadai Plowden (Yonkers, NY) poured in a team-best 15 points for Purchase (2-10, 1-6 SKY), while senior forward
Arta Krasniqi (Bronx, NY) led all defensive players with a game-high 10 boards. Offensively, Krasniqi came within one point of a double-double performance after finishing with nine points.
Jami Cardenas recorded a game-high 21 points to lead Farmingdale (6-6, 4-4 SKY).
Alexis Antonacci and Anna Zaborowska also helped pave the road to victory for the home team with 14 points apiece and a combined 14 rebounds. Zaria Witherspoon rounded out the double-digit scoring for the Rams with 10 points off the bench.
Purchase will return to action on Thursday with a home Skyline game against the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy. Tipoff is slated for 8 p.m.
