NEW YORK, NY - The Purchase College men's volleyball team lost at Baruch College Tuesday night, falling to the non-conference foe, 3-0.
Set scores for the match were 25-14, 25-7 and 25-14. With the result, the Panthers are now 6-9 overall, while the Bearcats of Baruch improved to 14-6.
From the get-go, the guests were stymied by a stellar Baruch squad. The Bearcats scored eight of the first 10 points of the game and led by as many as 12 points in the first set.
Those numbers continued into the second frame, as Baruch hit an absurd .800 overall with eight kills and zero errors. In the final set, Purchase again fell pray to an early deficit, as the hosts rolled to the set and match victory.Â
For the game, Baruch hit .455 with 31 kills and just six errors. As for the Panthers, the guests finished with 16 kills in the loss.
The reigning Skyline Conference Player of the Week,
Jeremiah Huntt (SO/Bronx, NY), recorded seven of the 16 kills, while adding two digs and an ace.
Idris Idris (FR/Bronx, NY) finished with 14 assists andÂ
Andreo Otiniano (SR/Mamaroneck, NY) chipped in six digs.Â
