Purchase, N.Y. – The Purchase women's tennis team lost a 6-3 decision to Skyline Conference foe Yeshiva University Sunday afternoon.
Hosted by the Maccabees but played at Purchase College, the match was temporarily delayed and then moved to the Armonk Indoor Sports Center due to weather.
Yeshiva opened the day with a 2-1 lead, earning a win by walkover at third doubles and an 8-3 victory the No. 2 spot.

Nikita Kordzielewska (SO/Poland) and
Laine Neufeld (FR/Trumbell, CT) teamed up at first doubles to defeat Alexandra Huberfeld and Anna Elfassy, 8-1.
Kordzielewska and
Kali Secrest (FR/Hartsdale, NY) picked up Purchase's only two victories in singles play, and they came at the first and fifth spots with scores of 6-3, 6-1 and 6-0, 6-2, respectively.
The Panthers were tagged with losses at second, third and fourth singles and due to a shortened lineup, the team was forced to yield the No. 6 singles match.
With the loss, the Panthers dropped to 1-4 on the season and 1-4 in the Skyline, while the Maccabees advanced to 1-4 overall and 1-4 in the league.
Up next, Purchase will conclude its 2021 campaign with a Skyline road match at Mount Saint Mary College.
