NEW LONDON, Conn. - The Purchase College men's basketball team suffered its first loss of the season Tuesday night, falling at Connecticut College by the score of 78-36.

With the result, both the Panthers and Camels moved to 2-1 on the young season.

After opening the game with five-straight points, Purchase was outscored over the remainder of the first half by the total of 31-13.

In the second frame, the guests never got closer than 15 points, as Connecticut rolled to the win.

The Panthers were limited to just 18 points in each half, and shot a rough 21.9 percent from the field in the defeat.

Individually, Matthew Phillips (SO/Bronx, NY) tallied a double-double with a team-high 14 points and 10 rebounds.

Mark Morgan (SR/Bronx, NY) added nine points and four rebounds, while Terrence Mason (JR/Greenburgh, NY) chipped in seven points in the effort.

For the Camels, they shot a lights-out 48.6 percent for the game and had three players finish with double-digit points.

Up next for the Panthers is more non-conference road action, as they travel south to New Jersey to take on Ramapo College.
