MAHWAH, N.J. – The Purchase College men's volleyball team took to the road Saturday, competing in a pair of matches at Ramapo College.
The Panthers opened the day with a 3-0 (25-10, 25-12, 25-9) Skyline Conference loss to the host Roadrunners, before dropping a non-conference matchup, 3-0 (25-10, 25-14, 25-7), against No. 8 Marymount University.
Senior hitter
Joe Higgins (Bayside, NY) led Purchase in the opener with eight kills. Junior setter
Idris Idris (Bronx, NY) dished out ten assists, while freshman libero
Jasper Zeray (Brooklyn, NY) posted seven digs to lead the Panther defense. The team combined for 14 kills in the match.
Against Marymount, Higgins once again paced the Panther offense with eight kills on 19 attempts (.263), while Idris assisted on 13 of the team's 14 kills.
Purchase will return to action on Wednesday for its home opener against John Jay College. The Panthers will play host to the Bulldogs for a non-conference match slated for 7 p.m.
