PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College men's volleyball team recovered from a slow start to battle Skyline foe Mount Saint Vincent Thursday night at home before falling 3-1 in four sets.
Purchase (2-10, 1-3 SKY) dropped the opening set 25-20 and won the second 25-23. However, MSV closed out the match, recovering to the tune of 25-19 in both the third and fourth sets.

Joe Higgins (Bayside, NY) led all scorers with 13 kills. The outside hitter finished with a .167 hitting percentage, to go along with seven digs, one ace and one block assist.
Jeremiah Huntt (SR/Bronx, NY) tallied 10 digs (.074), two aces, one block assist and tied the team-high nine digs with junior setter
Idris Idris (Bronx, NY). Idris also tossed up a notable match-best 34 assists, while
Marcus Garguilo (FR/Port Washington, NY) led at the service line with four aces.
Samuel Martinez fueled the visiting offense with an impressive .533 attacking percentage; finishing with 11 kills on 15 attempts with just three errors. Martinez and teammate Terence Strehle paced the Dolphin defense with six blocks apiece, while Kyle Thompson tallied a match-best 10 digs.
Purchase will return home again next week (Mar. 16) to take on Skyline powerhouse St. Joseph's College (L.I), starting at 7p.m.
