PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's soccer team suffered its first loss of the season Monday night, falling to Lehman College by the score of 2-1. 

With the result, the Panthers now sit at 3-1 overall, while the Lightning moved to 2-2-2.

The defeat was a tough one to swallow for the Panthers, as they grabbed the lead just 10 minutes in off a strike from Noah Siega (JR/Houston, TX), and maintained it all the way to the 72nd minute.

It was at that point that Lehman's Ebenezer Otoo (Accra, Ghana) tallied his first strike of the night. Then just 100 seconds later, in the 73rd minute, Otoo again found the back of the net to flip the game completely upside down.

Now trailing for the first time, the Panthers' offense was suffocated by the Lightning defense, as the hosts were limited to just one shot during the final 17 minutes of action.

As a result, Purchase never truly threatened again as Lehman escaped with the win. In the end, the guests outpaced the Panthers in shots (19-8) and shots on goal (13-4).

In net, Travis Stella (SO/Waterbury, NY) finished with a career-high 11 saves for Purchase.

On offense, Luca Li Vigni (FR/Staten Island, NY) recorded the assist on the Siega goal, while Marlon Matute (SO/Staten Island, NY) recorded two shots in the loss.
