FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team was defeated at Farmingdale State College Tuesday night, dropping the Skyline Conference matchup by the score of 101-58.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 7-12 overall and 2-9 in the league. For the Rams, they improved to 14-6 and 9-2, respectively.
From the get-go, the hosts were the top team on the night and never let up throughout. Farmingdale scored the first four points of the game and 23 of the first 30 points as the Green and White raced out to an early advantage.
As the first half continued on, the Rams shot 60% over the period, while the Blue and Orange shot 32.2%. At halftime, the Panthers trailed by 33 points, 62-29.
Individually,
Elijah Holmes (SO/Brooklyn, NY) finished with a team-high 11 points, five rebounds and two steals.Â
Isaac Johnson (JR/Bronx, NY) and
Terrence Mason (JR/Greenburgh, NY) each scored eight points in the loss.Â
Up next for Purchase is the final non-conference game of the year, as the team travels to Connecticut to face Mitchell College on February 2nd at 6 p.m.
