PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's volleyball team rolled to a non-conference win Monday night, besting Medgar Evers College in straight sets.
Scores for the contest were 25-12, 25-7 and 25-12. With the win, the Panthers moved to 5-18 overall. For the Cougars, they dropped to 0-16.
The Blue and Orange cruised on the night, tallying 63 points (33 kills, 29 aces and one block), a .288 hitting percentage and massive leads in all three sets.
Leading the offensive charge for Purchase was
Ava Landreth (FR/Brooklyn, NY) and
Natalia Leite (FR/Thornwood, NY), as each player finished with 13.5 points.
For Landreth, she finished with a career-high 10 kills, while adding three aces and a block assist.
For Leite, she totaled a remarkable 10 aces, in addition to three kills and a block assist. She also collected 27 assists.
Marcella Pena (FR/Bronx, NY) recorded seven aces and five kills for 12 points, while
Maya Brown (FR/Carteret, NJ) and
Jessica Scott (JR/Elmsford, NY) each tallied 10 points apiece.
Up next for the Panthers is the team's season finale, as they travel to Sarah Lawrence College on October 26th at 7 p.m.
