PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team rolled to a convincing win Thursday night, besting Five Towns College by the score of 97-51.
With the victory, the Panthers jumped to 3-2 overall. Meanwhile, the Sound dropped to 3-3.
On the night, the Blue and Orange led from start to finish, as they opened the game by scoring 16 of the first 18 points. By halftime, Purchase's lead grew to 21 points, 44-23.
That margin was extended in the second half, ballooning to as many as 48 points, before the Panthers settled for the 46-point victory.
Overall, the hosts shot 52.6% from the field and 36.4% on 3-pointers, as they turned the ball over just six times. By contrast, Five Towns shot 34.5% and 37.5%, respectively, while committing 22 turnovers.Â
Individually, the Panthers played their entire roster in the effort, with 18 guys taking the court throughout the night.Â

Matthew Phillips (JR/Bronx, NY) paced the action with a game-high 15 points and four blocks.
Mahamadou Nimaga (SR/Bronx, NY) added 12 points, while
Isaac Johnson (SR/Bronx, NY) chipped in 10 points and five rebounds.
Up next for Purchase is the beginning of Skyline Conference play, as the squad welcomes Mount Saint Mary College on December 6th at 8 p.m.
