PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's volleyball team was bested by Bard College Wednesday night, dropping the non-conference matchup in four sets.

Scores for the contest were 20-25, 25-21, 25-20 and 25-17. With the result, the Panthers dropped to 2-6 overall, while the Raptors advanced to 4-7.

On the night, the two sides were well matched throughout as each frame saw back and forth action.

In set one, Purchase and Bard traded points to an eventual 10-8 Bard lead. From there, the hosts scored the next seven points to jump in front, 15-10.

The Raptors held tough tough, cutting the deficit to just three points on four occasions, before eventually succumbing to the Panthers, 25-20.

In set two, Purchase raced out to a quick lead by scoring six of the first eight points. The Panthers then held onto that lead deep into the set until Bard surged late.

With the score favoring the hosts, 21-18, the Raptors responded by scoring seven-straight points to steal the victory and turn the tide in the match.

Following the shocking conclusion to set two, the guests were hyped up heading into set three.

That momentum carried them all frame long, as they led for nearly the entire stanza. In the end, the Raptors took the set, 25-20, to grab a 2-1 advantage.

From there, Purchase wasn't able to mount a comeback in the fourth and final frame as Bard pulled away late to take the match.

On the night, the Panthers tallied a .040 hitting percentage and 29 kills to Bard's 42 kills and .200 hitting.

Individually, Chris Posillico (SR/Saltaire, NY) led the Purchase offense with eight kills and seven aces, while also adding 11 digs. 

Luca Spadinger (FR/Loudonville, NY) added eight kills and five digs, while Idris Idris (SR/Bronx, NY) recorded a team-high 20 assists and 15 digs.
