Women's Tennis Closes Out Regular Season with Win at Sarah Lawrence

BRONXVILLE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's tennis team closed out their regular season with a strong 5-1 victory over Sarah Lawrence College in Skyline Conference play on Sunday afternoon. With the win, the Panthers finish at 8-5 overall and 4-2 in the conference, while the Gryphons fell to 2-10 and 0-6, respectively.

In doubles action, the Panthers set the tone early with a pair of wins. The No. 1 duo of Amelia Perlmutter (SO/Rutherford, NJ) and Olivia Menchell (SR/Los Angeles, CA) battled through a tight contest, edging out their opponents 7-6. At the No. 2 spot, Novalie Nguyen (JR/Macedon, NY) and Katelin Smith (SO/Slate Hill, NY) dominated, cruising to a 6-2 victory.

In singles play, Perlmutter led the way with a 6-0, 6-1 win at No. 1 singles. Nguyen delivered a flawless performance at No. 4 singles, winning 6-3, 6-0, while Sierra Blanco (JR/New York, NY) swept her opponent at No. 5 singles, 6-0, 6-0.

Emma Arnaud (JR/Farmington, NY) played a thrilling three-set match at No. 3 singles, prevailing with a 6-4, 6-7, 10-3 win to secure the victory for the Panthers.

Up next, the Blue and Orange will compete in the Skyline Conference Semifinals on October 30th.
