BROOKLYN, N.Y.– The Purchase College women's soccer team closed out their 2024 season with a 9-0 victory over St. Joseph's-Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon. This final win brings the Panthers to 4-13-2 overall and 2-8-1 in the Skyline Conference, while the Bears conclude their season at 1-14-0 and 1-10-0, respectively.

The Blue and Ornage set an aggressive pace from the outset, as Sophia Franklin (So/St. Catharines, Ontario) scored her first career goal in the third minute, assisted by Analie Ingalsbe (SR/West Hurley, NY). Lindita Selmani (SO/Brooklyn, NY) followed with two back-to-back goals in the 36th and 40th minutes. Just before halftime, Emily Giron (SO/Newburgh, NY) scored off a setup from Selmani, sending Purchase into the break with a strong 4-0 lead.

The guests carried their momentum into the second half, adding five more goals. Julieth Velasquez (JR/White Plains, NY) struck twice, with additional goals from Ingalsbe, Angela Holness (SO/Newburgh, NY), and a third from Selmani, securing the Panthers' nine-goal margin.

Purchase dominated offensively, outshooting St. Joseph's 39-7, with 21 shots on target. Selmani led with six shots, netting a hat trick to bring her season total to eight goals, and contributed two assists. 

Goalkeepers Carolyn Hough (JR/Plainedge, NY) and Jill Creegan (FR/High Falls, NY) each contributed 45 minutes, recording three saves apiece to secure the shutout.

The Blue and Orange will return to the field next year for their 2025 campaign.
