FARMINGDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's soccer team was defeated on the road Wednesday afternoon, falling to Farmingdale State College in a Skyline Conference matchup, 4-2.
With the result, the Panthers are now 1-10 overall and 0-7 in the league. For the Rams, they moved to 6-5-3 and 3-2-2, respectively.
Both sides started fast, as the hosts struck first in the 10th minute, whileÂ
Yahir Tafoya (FY/Bronx, NY) equalized for the Blue and Orange in the 17th.
10 minutes later, Farmingdale scored once more to regain the lead and never relinquished it from there. At halftime, the score remained 2-1.
During the second half, the Rams added to two more tallies (60th and 86th)Â to pad their eventual win.
However, before the final horn sounded, Tafoya added his second of the game off a feed from
Jimmy Guaman (FY/Queens, NY), trimming the end margin to 4-2.
Overall, shots and corner kicks favored the hosts, as Purchase keeper
Jack Gjokaj (SR/Thornwood, NY) did all he could in net. He finished with 11 saves in the effort.
Up next for the Panthers is a return home, as they host Mount Saint Mary College on October 12th at noon.
