DELHI, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team bounced back in their second game of the season during the SUNY Delhi Tip-Off weekend, defeating SUNY Delhi 58-47. With this win, the Blue and Orange evened their record at 1-1, while the Broncos are now 0-2.
The Panthers set the tone early, leading 16-12 after the first quarter and extending their advantage to 31-22 at halftime.
Purchase continued their strong play in the third quarter, outscoring Delhi 17-15 to head into the fourth with a 48-37 lead. Despite a late push from SUNY Delhi, the Panthers held on, securing their first victory of the season, 58-47.
Individually,
Carlye Graff (SR/South Nyack, NY) led Purchase with a game-high 19 points, shooting 7-for-18 from the field, including five three-pointers, and added four rebounds.
Charlee Neb (JR/Longmont, CO) contributed 16 points, shooting 2-for-3 from beyond the arc, while also recording six rebounds and two steals.
Kaylena Steiner (SO/Fresno, CA) added a solid 11 points, going 4-for-5 from the field.
Defensively,
Halle Greaige (SO/Rye Brook, NY) provided strength on the boards with seven rebounds and
Jessica McHugh (SO/Ellenville, NY) chipped in with six points and three rebounds off the bench.
Purchase shot an efficient 40.4% from the field compared to the Broncos 31.6% and 44.4% from beyond the arc, with a strong showing in the paint, totaling 30 points.
Up next, the Blue and Orange will host Anna Marie College for their home opener on November 12th. Tip off is set for 6 p.m.
