PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's basketball team concluded the 2023-24 season with a commanding victory over Pratt Institute on Saturday afternoon, securing a decisive 68-34 win.
From the tipoff, the Blue and Orange set the tone with a powerful offensive display, scoring the first 17 points. After one quarter, the score was 19-6.
The home team continued to dominate in the following period, extending their lead to 37-10 by halftime.
In the second half, Pratt more than doubled its scoring efforts from the first however, the Panthers maintained their momentum, ultimately securing the victory.
Individually, Kaylena Phagnasay (FY/Fresno, CA) delivered a career-high 16 points along with a personal best of five assists.
Carlye Graff (JR/Nyack, NY) closely followed with 14 points, while Jessica McHugh (FY/Ellenville, NY) contributed 13 points and a team-high 12 rebounds.
Kendall Larsen (FY/Staten Island, NY) added 10 points to the win and also secured a career-high 11 rebounds.
Purchase shot 52.8% from the field while Pratt finished at 22.8%.Â
With this triumph, the Panthers wrapped up the season with a 3-22 overall record, while the Cannoneers finished at 0-18.
Women's basketball will return to the court in November 2024 for the 24-25 campaign.
