PURCHASE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was defeated at home Wednesday night, falling to the University of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 19-1.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 1-12 overall and 0-7 in the league. For the Dolphins, the win pushed them to 5-9 and 3-5, respectively.
The guests opened the contest with three-straight goals, before the Blue and Orange broke the streak with their lone strike of the night.
Alyssa Kozak (SR/East Meadow, NY) provided the tally off a free-position chance late in the first quarter, making the score 3-1 heading into the second.
From there, Mount Saint Vincent exploded offensively to the tune of eight consecutive second-quarter goals.
Following halftime, the Dolphins added eight more goals in the second half to cruise to the win, 19-1.
Individually, Kozak finished with all three shots on goal for Purchase, while adding three ground balls, two caused turnovers and a draw control.
Alison Salinas (SR/West Hempstead, NY) collected three ground balls and one caused turnover, while
Amani Jamal (JR/Hopewell Junction, NY) totaled 13 saves, a caused turnover and a ground ball.
Up next for the Panthers is the season finale as well as Senior Night, as the team hosts SUNY Old Westbury on April 26th at 7 p.m.
