BROOKLYN, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's basketball team fell to St. Joseph's University-Brooklyn, 60-44, in a Skyline Conference matchup on Tuesday evening.
With the results, the Panthers dropped to 3-13 overall and 2-9 in the Skyline Conference, while the Bears improved to 6-10 and 5-7, respectively.
The Panthers had a slow start offensively in the first quarter, scoring just four points while St. Joseph's capitalized with a 19-4 lead. Purchase found its rhythm in the second quarter, outscoring the Bears 14-13, but still trailed 36-18 at halftime.
Despite a more balanced effort in the second half, the Panthers couldn't overcome the early deficit ultimately falling 60-44.
Individually, Katie Argenzio (FY/Washingtonville, NY) led Purchase with 12 points, with senior Carlye Graff South Nyack, NY) right behind her with 11.
Charlee Neb (JR/Longmont, CO) added 10 points, four assists, and three rebounds, while Jessica McHugh (SO/Ellenville, NY) recorded eight points and a team-high 10 rebounds.
The Blue and Orange are back on the road January 25th when they travel to the University of Mount Saint Vincent for a noon tipoff.
