PURCHASE, N.Y. – The Purchase College women's tennis team capped its regular season with a thrilling 4-3 win over Sarah Lawrence College on Sunday afternoon, highlighted by senior Emma Arnaud's match-clinching victory in singles play.
Sunday's match also marked the final collegiate appearance for seniors Arnaud (Farmington, NY) and Sierra Blanco (New York, NY), who have been instrumental to the success of the Purchase women's tennis program.
With the result, The Blue and Orange closed the regular season at 7-7 overall and 3-4 in the Skyline Conference, while Sarah Lawrence dropped to 6-7 and 2-4, respectively.
Purchase opened strong in doubles, securing wins on the top two courts. Amelia Perlmutter (JR/Rutherford, NJ) and Arnaud teamed up for a 6-2 victory at No. 1 doubles, while Blanco and Sadie Killebrew (JR/Brooklyn, NY) dominated 6-1 at No. 2 to give the Panthers the early edge.
In singles, Perlmutter earned a straight-sets win (6-2, 7-5) at No. 1 and Blanco cruised to a 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 3. With the score tied 3-3, all eyes turned to Arnaud on court two, where the senior delivered in dramatic fashion—battling to a 6-4, 1-6, 6-4 triumph to seal the team win.
"I'm very proud of this team and everything they accomplished this season," said head coach Mickey Brzov. "Emma's victory was a special moment — one she worked hard for and truly deserved. It was a special win for both her and the entire team."
The Panthers will return to the courts Fall 2026.
