Where Are They Now? DJ Peoples '21

PURCHASE, N.Y. - "Where are they now?" is a monthly feature story that highlights former student-athletes and employees, as they recount their adventures at Purchase College and what they have been up to since departing.

Our third person of the 2025-26 season is DJ Peoples '21, a four-year starting point guard for the women's basketball team.

Over 73 career games, Peoples (New York, NY) averaged 6.0 points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game.

As a sophomore, she started 22 games and helped lead the Panthers to their most recent birth in the Skyline Conference Playoffs, including a trip to the semifinals that year.

The following year, she served as a tri-captain and the team's third leading scorer at 8.0 points per game. Sadly like so many, Peoples lost her senior season due to Covid in 2020-21.

However, just a few years later in 2023-24, she returned to campus as the new top assistant coach under Stephen Bower.

She continues in the role today, while attending grad school in her spare time. Scroll below to read DJ's own words about what she has been up to since graduating.

Share your thoughts on your overall experience as a former Panther: I loved my time at Purchase as a player here and am loving it coaching as well. I learned so much from the community while I was here and found life long friends. Being apart of the athletic department that taught me so much is rewarding.
