BRONX, N.Y. - The Purchase College men's basketball team was thwarted on the road Tuesday night, falling to Lehman College in a non-conference matchup by the score of 73-66.
With the finish, the Panthers dropped to 0-2 overall, while the Lightning now stand at 2-1.
On the night, the Blue and Orange enjoyed early success, as they raced out to their biggest margin in the first four minutes of action, 8-4.
However, the hosts soon applied the pressure and lead much of the first half, carrying a nine-point lead into halftime, 39-30.
From there, Lehman led the entire second period, though the guests managed to trim the margin to just two points with under eight minutes remaining.
In the end, the Panthers could not produce the offense they needed to succeed on the night.
For the contest, Purchase shot just 31.7 percent overall and 18.2 percent on 3-pointers, while the hosts recorded totals of 44.6 percent and 36.4 percent, respectively.
Individually,
Ricky Rollins (JR/Schenectady, NY) fueled the effort with a team-high 17 points and five rebounds.
Chris Hunter (SR/Charlotte, NC) added 15 points, three assists and three steals, while
Trey Skeete (SR/Brooklyn, NY) grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds.
Up next for the squad is more road action as they travel to Bard College this weekend. That game is set to tip-off at 4 p.m. on November 15th.
