RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Purchase College women's lacrosse team was thwarted in a Skyline Conference matchup Tuesday evening, falling to the University of Mount Saint Vincent by the score of 15-2.
With the result, the Panthers dropped to 0-5 overall and 0-2 in the league. For the Dolphins, they moved to 1-3 and 1-0, respectively.
The hosts opened the contest with seven-straight goals, before the Blue and Orange got on the board midway through the second quarter thanks to 
Catie Chios (SO/Westbury, NY). 
From there, the guests scored one more time just before the half, when 
Julieth Velasquez (JR/White Plains, NY) found the back of the net.
At the break, the score was 9-2. 
On the day, Purchase finished with 12 shots, 10 ground balls and five draw controls overall.
Individually, Velasquez led the way with seven shots (five on goal), four draw controls and three ground balls.
In goal, 
Amani Jamal (SR/Hopewell Junction, NY) recorded 17 saves, three ground balls and a caused turnover.
Up next for the squad is a home Skyline matchup with St. Joseph's University-Long Island on April 4th at 4 p.m.
